Inter and their striker Marcus Thuram have both been fined €5,000 after accepting a plea bargain for using insulting banners against Milan during Scudetto celebrations.
The Nerazzurri secured the Serie A title and the Coppa Italia in a Double last season, going on an open-top bus parade through the streets of Milan to celebrate with the two trophies.

During this event, fans lined the roads and handed up banners or scarves for the players, who were not always discerning enough when taking them.

There were two banners that the disciplinary commission deemed “unequivocally insulting and offensive” towards Milan and its supporters.
The first depicted a giant rat with the red and black colours of Milan, the second read: ‘You can shove your derby victories up your a**’
Inter became the first Milanese club to win the Scudetto despite losing both editions of the Derby della Madonnina that season.
Thuram and Inter had been deferred to the disciplinary committee, but accepted a plea bargain, so are only fined €5,000 each.
