Marcus Thuram was full of praise for his new striker partner Joaquin Correa after Inter’s 5-0 victory over Hellas Verona on Saturday afternoon.
The Argentine lined up as a starter for the first time in any competition this season. Captain Lautaro Martinez was not part of the squad due to illness, and SImone Inzaghi decided to rest both Mehdi Taremi and Marko Arnautovic ahead of the Champions League visit from RB Leipzig on Tuesday.
Thuram and Correa got three goals between them: Two goals for the Frenchman and a goal and an assist for his strike partner, all of which came before the 25th minute.
“Tucu is a great player,” Thuram told DAZN after the full-time whistle.
“We see him every day in training and we are so happy for him. Sometimes I score two goals, other times I don’t sore at all, but the important thing is that Inter win.”

“I’m also happy for Bisseck, now we can think about the Champions League.”
Inter’s 5-0 victory sent them to the top of the Serie A table, although Atalanta are still able to overtake them with a win against Parma later on Saturday evening.
Then comes the return of Champions League action. Inter and Atalanta are the only two teams in the competition yet to concede after four league phase matches.
