Tiago Gabriel targeted by Bournemouth after impressive Lecce season | OneFootball

Bournemouth are eager to snap up Lecce defender Tiago Gabriel and sent scouts to view him in action several times this season.

The 21-year-old has six caps for Portugal at youth level and was instrumental in ensuring Lecce managed to avoid relegation this term on the final day of the season.

He was secured from Estrela Amadora in January 2025 for €1.25m plus add-ons, another of the future talents inspired by director of sport Pantaleo Corvino.

According to Sky Sport Italia transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio, Bournemouth are determined to bring him to the Premier League and sent scouts to the Stadio Via del Mare several times to view him.

Tiago Gabriel scored two goals from central defence in 37 Serie A appearances this term.

Although his contract only runs to June 2027, Lecce do retain an option to extend for another two years.

Nonetheless, the report insists Bournemouth believe they can get the defender on loan with an option to buy at the end of the season.

There had already been interest in recent months from Juventus and West Ham United.
