Manchester United coach Tom Curtis is poised to join another Premier League club, the Manchester Evening News confirm.

Coaching changes

While incomings and outgoings continue to command the lion’s share of discourse, significant alterations to the coaching staff are likewise scheduled to take effect club-wide in the lead-up to the new season.

Darren Fletcher, who assumed temporary control of the first team in the immediate aftermath of Ruben Amorim’s dismissal, is set to keep his place as the boss of the Under-18s.

Travis Binnion stepped up from his Under-21 role to join the senior coaching staff, bolstering Michael Carrick’s backroom team alongside fellow newcomers Jonathan Woodgate and Steve Holland.

In the wake of Binnion’s promotion, Curtis stepped up and managed the Under-21s for four games before United secured the return of Adam Lawrence.

Lawrence had initially been expected to stick around just until the end of next season, but word is he’ll now be staying for good, with Binnion firmly established as a permanent fixture on the senior coaching staff.

According to the Manchester Evening News, Curtis is on the brink of leaving United for Everton.

Curtis’ exit

Steven Railston reports, “Manchester United academy coach Tom Curtis is expected to join Everton.”

“Curtis is poised to link up at Everton with the former head of United’s academy, Nick Cox. Last year, Cox joined Everton as their technical director and has since reshaped their academy system with a string of new hires.”

“Former United U21 assistant coach Dave Hughes is set to manage that same age group at Everton. Curtis is understood to be in talks to leave United to work alongside Hughes in the Toffees’ U21 set-up.”

Railston reiterates that United are preparing to formally announce that Lawrence will stay.

Curtis joined United in November 2024 as the head of player development for the Under-13 and Under-16 age groups, having previously held different youth positions with the FA.
