Toni Kroos hails Premier League star amid Real Madrid transfer links | OneFootball

Former Real Madrid star Toni Kroos has this week moved to reveal his appreciation for the talents of Manchester City standout Rodri.

This of course comes amid fresh media speculation linking the 29-year-old with a potential return to his home country, with Los Blancos.

The brass at the Santiago Bernabéu are known to be on the lookout for reinforcements in the middle of the park at present.

Following the respective departures of the aforementioned Kroos, and Luka Modrić, in the space of the last 12 months, Xabi Alonso’s squad is considered to be lacking when it comes to nous and experience in midfield.

This week, the name of Rodri has in turn returned to the forefront of the headlines in Madrid.

And one individual who appears to be of the opinion that the Ballon d’Or winner, despite his serious recent knee injury, would be a fine addition to Real’s ranks, is Toni Kroos.

Speaking during an interview with El Pais Semanal, as cited by Diario AS, this week, Blancos icon Kroos was full of praise for Rodri:

“Look at what happened to Manchester City after a player like Rodri got injured. What happens is that a good central midfielder or defensive midfielder is missed… when he’s not there. When he’s there, it’s something you take for granted, it’s like you don’t notice it, it’s like everything is in order and then the forwards can finish games with ease.”
