Bayern Munich are tracking Andrey Santos but Chelsea won’t be open to offers for the midfielder according to Ben Jacobs.
Chelsea paid £13m to sign Santos from Brazilian club Vasco da Gama in the summer of 2022 and spent the season back on loan in Brazil.
The midfielder is one of a number of signings from South America as Chelsea have increasingly tapped into that market under the Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital ownership.
The Brazilian looked good in pre-season under Mauricio Pochettino, but the decision was taken to send him on loan to Nottingham Forest, which in theory was a great move.
However, it was a disaster as Santos hardly played and he was recalled last January and sent on loan to Strasbourg, where after a slow start he impressed.
There was talk of the 20-year-old being part of Enzo Maresca’s squad this season, however the decision was taken to loan him back to Strasbourg again.
Santos is set to be a key part of Chelsea’s midfield next season.
Santos has excelled in France and has been one of the standout performers in Ligue 1 this campaign, with seven goals and two assists in 19 league appearances.
Manager Liam Rosenior has praised the youngster on several occasions and Chelsea withstood calls to recall him last month due to their lack of depth in midfield.
Santos’ performances haven’t gone unnoticed and whilst Chelsea are said to be delighted with his development, other clubs are sniffing around.
However, Jacobs has provided an update on the midfielder and reported that Chelsea won’t be entertaining offers in the summer.
“The plan is for Santos to be a key part of Chelsea’s midfield next season,” he wrote in his GIVEMESPORT column.

We have heard this before when it was reported last summer Santos would be part of the squad, but he ended up going out on loan, and Chelsea fans likely won’t relax until they see him playing in the blue shirt.
