After the highs of European football, Eintracht Frankfurt coach Dino Toppmöller sat down and gave an insight into his preparations for their clash with 1.FC Union Berlin this weekend.
"It will be a completely different match on Sunday with a different dynamic. Union will give us more of the ball, so we need to develop a good structure with the ball. We want to play well.
"Yesterday [vs Galatasaray] was a game that we need for our development. The boys exceeded their own expectations, and we achieved a lot. It was the first step into the Champions League and, for many of them, the first game there.
“We just want to do [win] it. It's always important to me that people see that the guys are motivated to run, fight, play, and stand up for each other. And then we'll see how far it takes us," he explained.
As for his squad, the 44-year-old left his lineup open to interpretation, suggesting that their could be a few tweaks made. He also provided an update on Mario Götze's muscular problems.
"Let's be surprised who will be in goal on Sunday. Robin Koch also played well yesterday. He gritted his teeth. There will definitely be some personnel changes on Sunday.
"How many there will be in the end, we'll have to wait and see tomorrow's training and discussions. It will be all about staying fresh against a hard-working opponent
“I'm in good contact with Mario Götze that he's dealing with the situation completely openly and putting himself at the service of the team. If he's not ready to help us again tomorrow, he'll communicate that to me," he said.
