Standard Sport understands that the young Hearts striker will join Spurs on loan for the remainder of the season, with an option to make the move permanent.

Arsenal approached Hearts regarding a loan move for Wilson over the weekend, but Spurs have moved quickly to hijack the transfer talks.

Wilson is a signing for the academy, with Spurs opting to not add to their first-team squad before Monday’s 7pm deadline.

Wilson is enjoying a burgeoning reputation in Scotland, having last season broken into the first-team squad with six goals and three assists over 32 appearances - of which many were off the bench.

He form caught the eye of Scotland manager Steve Clarke, who in May 2024 made Wilson his country's youngest-ever debutant when he came on as a substitute against Greece aged 18 years and 17 days.

First-team minutes have been harder to come by for Wilson this season, in large part due to the form of Lawrence Shankland and Claudio Braga spearheading a Scottish Premiership title charge.

Hearts are currently six points clear of Celtic and Rangers as they target a first league title in 66 years.
