Tottenham did some impressive business during the summer, but it is still clear that Thomas Frank’s squad needs addressed. In particular, midfield is an area that is certain to be looked at in 2026 – either in January or next summer.
Frank has quite a few options in midfield, but these can be upgraded upon. There have been regular links with former Chelsea star Conor Gallagher, now at Atletico Madrid, but they could look closer to home in their efforts to get their desired signing, with recent reports acknowledging their interest in Rangers’ Nicolas Raskin.

As per Football Insider, Pete O’Rourke explained that it is unlikely for Tottenham to sign Raskin in January, but if he does not sign a new Rangers contract before the end of the season, he could be available for a reduced price next summer.
“I’m not sure the clubs that are interested in Raskin would be willing to fork out that money in January for the midfielder as well. He’s got 18 months left on his deal, and if he stays at Rangers until next summer, I’m sure there will be further interest in Raskin then then that might be the time to cash in.
“If he’s not going to sign a new deal, it might open the door for him. I’m sure the player himself would maybe be open to the opportunity of moving on and playing at a higher level as well as he wants to secure his place in the Belgium squad. Rangers are expecting further interest in Raskin in January and next summer as well, and they’ll just be hoping that his price tag will continue to rise.”
It remains to be seen whether Tottenham go for Raskin, but they would certainly be more likely to if he was available cheaper.
