In a recent report, The Times (subscription required) mentioned that Tottenham Hotspur are preparing to launch a move for Manchester City winger Savinho. It has been claimed that Spurs are eyeing a £60m move to acquire the services of the Brazilian wide player this off-season.

Savinho’s Growing Struggles At Man City Last Season

Savinho struggled to earn a regular first-team spot at the Mancunian club in the previous campaign but did well to put in a run of eye-catching displays for them in the Premier League. The Brazilian talent participated in 36 matches for Man City last season, scoring four times and picking up three assists across all fronts.

The 22-year-old is currently among the most talented wide players in the Premier League. Hence, it is no surprise that Spurs are ready to move in for him in this transfer window.

His current deal at the Etihad Stadium will run out in the summer of 2031, which could make it tough for Tottenham to land him on the cheap this off-season.

Should Manchester City Boss Roberto De Zerbi Go For Savinho?

Savinho can use quickness to beat his marker out on the flanks and is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet. He has got the vision to engineer some inviting chances for his teammates to score.

The Brazilian sensation can even shoot the ball with venom from long range and can chip in by scoring and creating a few goals for his team. Savinho is primarily a left-winger but can also perform as a right-sided wide player or play in the number ten position if required. He is already quite familiar with the Premier League and won’t take much time to adjust to life at Tottenham if they manage to get him on board this summer.

Savinho would add more pace and firepower to Spurs boss Roberto De Zerbi’s frontline. He is capable of fighting for a regular first-team spot at the North London club next season.

At 22, Savinho has got the potential to be a future star in the Premier League as long as he continues to improve with each year. Thus, De Zerbi should focus on going for a winger with his skill set in this transfer window.
