Manchester United have responded to enquiries launched for their star striker, Benjamin Sesko.
The Slovenian endured a slow start to life under former boss Ruben Amorim before coming alive under new head coach Michael Carrick.
The 23-year-old ended his debut campaign with 12 goals to his name and an assist. He could have had more if not for an injury he suffered with three games remaining in the campaign.
That knock has kept him out for the first three pre-season games, but the former RB Leipzig star is likely to make his return against Paris Saint-Germain this weekend.
His impressive form has caught the attention of multiple clubs, with Bayern Munich and Barcelona among the sides who are keen.
United have firmly turned them down, but there is also interest from within the Premier League with TEAMtalk revealing that Tottenham Hotspur have launched a bold enquiry for the Slovenia international.
25/26 season stats
The Red Devils view Benjamin Sesko as the cornerstone of their project moving forward and consider him untouchable.
“Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Tottenham all made enquiries through intermediaries to establish whether there was any possibility of prising Sesko away from Old Trafford this summer.
“Man Utd’s response was immediate and unequivocal. Sources have confirmed the Premier League giants informed all interested parties they have absolutely no intention of entertaining offers for the striker and consider him untouchable in the current market.”
The striker is also keen to stay at Old Trafford as he is enjoying his football under Carrick.
The 20-time English league champions are about to return to the Champions League next season, and they will need their No.30 to be fit and firing.
However, INEOS are aware of the pitfalls of putting too much pressure on his young shoulders, which is why they are keen to sign a backup striker.
Joshua Zirkzee’s departure will open up a slot in the squad, with the likes of Dusan Vlahovic and Ollie Watkins linked with a move to the Theatre of Dreams.
