Wissa came as one of Brentford’s many successful signings from Ligue 1 back in 2021, joining the Bees for a fee worth €10m from FC Lorient. He had earned promotion to Ligue 1 in the 2019-2020 season with Les Merlus, before keeping the club up with is goals in the 2020-2021 season. After 3-and-a-half years at Stade du Moustoir Wissa had made 128 appearances and scored 37 goals. Having represented Angers, Ajaccio, Laval and Châteauroux in La Hexagone, Wissa made the move straight to the Premier League with newly-promoted Brentford.
