Premier League side Tottenham sack Ange Postecoglou.

An official statement from Tottenham confirmed the departure of Postecoglou from his managerial duties at the club. The Australian manager joined Spurs from Celtic in 2023 and capped off his tenure by delivering the Europa League trophy last month in Bilbao.

Despite winning Tottenham their first major title in 17 years, it was not enough for Postecoglou to convince chairman Daniel Levy to extend his stay at the North London outfit.

The decision to sack Postecoglou is expected to be rooted in Tottenham’s worst-ever Premier League finish last season, when they recorded just 38 points across the campaign to finish 17th in the standings. They could have found themselves into a potential relegation battle if Leicester City and Ipswich Town put up more of a fight.

Postecoglou leaves Spurs being the third manager in their history to enjoy European triumph alongside Bill Nicholson and Keith Burkinshaw.
