However, journalist Gianluca DiMarzio revealed that the Spurs target has no plans to leave his current environment.

Despite already signing Marcos Senesi and Jan Paul Van Hecke this summer, Tottenham have been linked with other centre-backs.

Youngster Luka Vuskovic is looking to leave to find playing time elsewhere, and that may be prompting the search for a new defender.

There have also been rumours linking Radu Dragusin, Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven with exits from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

But it appears Bremer is not interested in a move to the Premier League, as he wants to remain with his inspiration and Juventus executive Giorgio Chiellini.

The very complete Bremer caught the eye last season, bouncing back from a long-term injury to record some impressive defensive metrics for the Bianconeri.

He helped keep 12 clean sheets in 26 Serie A appearances, winning 58 percent and 52% of his ground duels while recording 90% passing accuracy.

Still, Tottenham should resist the temptation to keep stockpiling centre-backs. Even if Bremer were available, he is an unnecessary luxury rather than a pressing need.

Roberto De Zerbi already has Romero, van de Ven, Senesi, Kevin Danso and Van Hecke competing for places without European football, giving Spurs enviable depth.

If one of those senior names departs, the solution should not be another expensive signing. It should be Vuskovic.

The highly rated Croatian is regarded as one of Europe’s brightest defensive prospects and needs a pathway into the first team, not another obstacle blocking his progress.

Spurs have invested in his future, and now they must back that investment.

Allowing Vuskovic to leave permanently while chasing another established centre-half would be short-sighted.

Tottenham should do everything possible to keep him, develop him and trust him to become the club’s next long-term defensive leader.
