Tottenham captain Cristian Romero will start against Leeds after overcoming an injury scare, Thomas Frank has confirmed.

Romero missed the 2-2 draw against Bodo/Glimt in the Champions League as “a precaution”, which led to some concern over whether Spurs had suffered a fresh injury blow.

However, Romero has trained ahead of the trip to Leeds on Saturday and he is set to replace Kevin Danso in the starting line-up.

"Romero is fit and available and he will start tomorrow. Promising news,” Frank said at his press conference on Friday.

“That was a contact to his foot, the medical team did a good job to get him turned around. Trained and ready for tomorrow."

As expected, Dominic Solanke will again miss out, having undergone surgery on a troublesome ankle injury earlier this week.

The Spurs boss added: “Dom, minor procedure, went well, that's good. As I said in Bodo, the timeframe, we will know more when we come back from international. So that would be more on the timeframe, to be more specific there, if possible, of course.”

There was “very positive” news about Deadline Day signing Randal Kolo Muani, who has returned to training, but will not travel to Elland Road.

The Frenchman has yet to start a match for Spurs, having suffered a dead leg when colliding with Pape Matar Sarr in a training session.

Frank said: “Kolo Muani has been on the pitch the last two days. That's very positive.

“[He] will not be available. He's not in the squad tomorrow.”
