Tottenham Hotspur are set to step up their pursuit of Bournemouth striker Eli Junior Kroupi, with talks scheduled imminently between the club and the player’s representatives.

Spurs have identified the 20-year-old as their next marquee addition under manager Roberto De Zerbi and have already laid extensive groundwork for the potential transfer.

Club officials held preliminary discussions with Kroupi’s camp in March to assess the feasibility of a summer move.

The France Under-21 international is open to a switch to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium despite interest from several clubs.

Bournemouth are reluctant to lose their prized asset after just one season and are demanding at least £90 million before considering a sale.

The hefty price tag reflects Kroupi’s status as one of Europe’s top young attackers, having scored 13 goals in a superb debut Premier League campaign.

Tottenham view Kroupi as the ideal player to provide firepower and versatility in attack, and their pursuit is in keeping with the club’s relentless summer spending spree.

They have already finalised an £85m deal for West Ham’s Mateus Fernandes and agreed a club-record £100m fee for Newcastle United midfielder Sandro Tonali.

Those deals send a clear signal of their immediate ambitions after back-to-back seasons of finishing in the bottom four.

If Spurs successfully navigate talks with Kroupi’s camp and meet Bournemouth’s steep financial demands, the in-demand starlet would be their third blockbuster signing in quick succession.

Tottenham have already added Jan Paul van Hecke, Marcos Senesi, Andy Robertson and Martin Dubravka to their squad this summer.
