Tottenham Hotspur host Wolves in the Premier League this weekend as Ange Postecoglou looks to relieve some of the pressure on his position.
A defeat at Nottingham Forest on Boxing Day was the club’s fourth loss in five Premier League games. The North Londoners are 12th in the table and already 11 points adrift of Champions League qualification. Injuries have been a contributing factor and Postecoglou could be without a recognised centre-back for the visit of a resurgent Wolves.
Vitor Pereira’s appointment as manager has lifted Wolves, who have secured back-to-back wins over Leicester and Manchester United to climb out of the bottom three.
Postecoglou’s problems mounted up at the City Ground on Boxing Day as Radu Dragusin was forced off against Forest. The Romanian joins a lengthy list of defensive absentees with Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven and Ben Davies still sidelined.
Spurs could be forced into fielding a makeshift midfield pairing in central defence. Archie Gray has deputised in the role in recent weeks and could be partnered by Yves Bissouma. Djed Spence is unavailable after his red card against Nottingham Forest.
Tottenham predicted XI: Forster; Porro, Gray, Bissouma, Udogie; Sarr, Bentancur, Maddison, Kulusevski, Solanke, Johnson.
