Randal Kolo Muani is pushing to start for Tottenham against Arsenal after training in a specially fitted mask to help protect his jaw injury.

There were fears the on-loan French forward could miss as much as two months with the jaw injury he suffered Manchester United before the international break.

But Kolo Muani was told surgery was not required and he has taken part in full training in recent days wearing a mask.

The forward is in contention to face Arsenal, with Thomas Frank's hand significantly strengthened by the return of a number of players.

Lucas Bergvall has also recovered having withdrawn from Sweden duty after still feeling the effects of concussion.

With Archie Gray back too from a calf injury, Frank has plenty of options to consider.

"Now I need to make difficult decisions," he said at Friday's press conference.

Djed Spence did not feature for England over the international break and could get the nod over Destiny Udogie up against Bukayo Saka.

Although, Sarr, Bergvall and Gray are all available, it seems likely that Frank sticks with his preferred duo of Rodrigo Bentancur and Joao Palhinha in midfield.

Assuming Spurs continue with their 4-2-3-1 shape, Mohammed Kudus will take one of the spots out wide, leaving Brennan Johnson and Wilson Odobert to fight it out on the left.

Johnson scored a brilliant goal for Wales earlier this week, but Odobert has been in better form for Spurs.

Up front, Dominic Solanke is still out with an ankle injury. Richarlison has struggled for form recently and Mathys Tel could struggle with the physicality of the Arsenal defence.

Frank could therefore tempted to lead with a masked Kolo Muani, even with his jaw issue.

Predicted Tottenham XI (4-2-3-1): Vicario; Porro, Romero, Van de Ven, Spence; Palhinha, Bentancur; Kudus, Simons, Odobert; Kolo Muani

Injured: Maddison, Kulusevski, Bissouma, Solanke

Doubt: Dragusin
