Juventus have identified Tottenham’s Guglielmo Vicario as their primary target to take over the starting role in goal next season.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Bianconeri are prioritising the former Empoli man as they look to solve their recent issues between the posts. Spurs set an asking price between €25m and €30m to sanction a sale. Crucially for the Turin giants, Vicario’s current salary is deemed well within the club’s wage limits, making the financial operation feasible.
However, Juventus face intense competition for his signature, most notably from Inter, who also view the Italian international as a top priority. This is likely to be key, especially since the Nerazzurri are likely to have better relations with the 29-year-old’s entourage.
Should a deal for Vicario prove too difficult to strike, Juve have already identified Marco Carnesecchi as the leading alternative to bolster their defensive department. The Bianconeri view him as the best goalkeeper in Serie A right now.
