Trabzonspor ‘open talks’ over free move for Bertrand Traoré after Sunderland exit | OneFootball

According to Africafoot, Trabzonspor have opened negotiations with Bertrand Traoré’s representatives over a potential free transfer.

The 30-year-old Burkina Faso winger joined Sunderland in September last year for around £2.5 million, signing a one-year deal with an option for a further year.

He featured 12 times in the Premier League in 2025-26, scoring once, and was released at the end of the season after struggling for regular minutes amid injury issues.

The former Chelsea, Lyon, Aston Villa, Villarreal and Ajax attacker brought top-level experience to Wearside, though his stay proved short-lived.

Trabzonspor are assessing attacking reinforcements ahead of the new campaign, and Traoré’s availability without a fee, plus experience across England, France, Spain and the Netherlands, could appeal.

He has more than 90 caps for Burkina Faso, underlining the pedigree he would add if the club choose to pursue a deal.
