Transfer news LIVE!
The summer window is fast approaching, and early work is already ahead of what is expected to be a huge few months across the Premier League and Europe. Arsenal want to sign a striker and another wide forward, with Alexander Isak a dream target, and Rodrygo also admired, though the likes of Viktor Gyokeres and Nico Williams are considered more attainable transfer targets.
Chelsea are also expected to be busy once again, as they target moves for Ipswich’s Liam Delap and Bournemouth’s Dean Huijsen, though face stiff competition from the likes of Real Madrid for the young centre-back. Liverpool are also in the market for a defender as they look to replace Madrid-bound Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Jeremie Frimpong is their top target, and are ready to battle with Manchester City for Florian Wirtz.
Much of Manchester United and Tottenham’s summer will be dictated by qualifying for the Champions League, or failing to do so, and the extra prestige and funds which it brings. Matheus Cunha continues to be linked with a move to Old Trafford, along with Delap, while the Spurs will liking make the permanent signing of Mathys Tel their first business of the summer. Liverpool are expected to wrap up the signing of Jeremie Frimpong, their dream replacement for the departing Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Alexander-Arnold confirmed last week that he has decided to leave the Anfield club this summer, following the conclusion of his contract. It will see the end of a two-decade-long association with his boyhood club and leave Liverpool needing to replace one of the best right-backs in the world.
Liverpool have been anticipating Alexander-Arnold's impending exit for some time and earlier this year pinpointed Bayer Leverkusen's Frimpong as their first-choice target.
The Athletic’s David Ornstein now reports that Frimpong is expected to sign for Liverpool this summer.
The report states that discussions between club and players have progressed well and an agreement is set to be reached to take the 24-year-old to Anfield on a five-year contract.
Frimpong has a €35million (£29.6m) release clause in his Leverkusen contract, meaning the Reds have been able to speak to right-back without his current club's involvement.

Jonathan David has been tipped to leave Lille for what feels like years at this point.
A regular name on Fabrizio Romano’s social media feeds, David has now confirmed that he is on the move this summer when his contract expires.
With 25 goals to his name this season, he should be attracting plenty of interest.
David wrote on Instagram: “I wanted to tell you myself that after so many years at the club it's time for me to say goodbye.
“I've had five wonderful seasons here. I know it hasn't always been easy but I hope that my goals and my celebrations have managed to bring you some joy.
“I would like to thank all of my team-mates, all of the coaches - staff, technical, medical team, all of the managers, everyone I have met and spent months with at the club.
“Thank you very much for everything you have given me personally over the years.”

Johnny Cardoso is expected to become Tottenham’s first signing of the summer transfer window.
Spurs last summer negotiated a clause in Giovani Lo Celso's move to Real Betis which would allow them to sign Cardoso for £21million at the end of the current season.
Standard Sport understands the clause can be triggered during a two-week period once the summer transfer window has opened.
And El Desmarque now report that the expectation remains that a deal will be completed early in the window.

Liverpool have held a secret meeting with Florian Wirtz in an effort to hijack a move for Manchester City and Bayern Munich's no1 transfer target.
Wirtz has two years left on his contract with Bayer Leverkusen, who are expected to cash in. Figures over around £125million has been reported for the midfielder.
City wants Wirtz as their Kevin De Bruyne replacement and have reported gone as far as discussing a deal with player's father and agent, Hans, ahead of what would be a British record transfer.
But now Liverpool have made a surprise move. The Athletic report that the Reds have made contact with Wirtz's representatives to express an interest in the player and gauge his preference over a summer move.
Should Liverpool get encouragement that Wirtz is open to moving to the Premier League over remaining in Germany with Bayern, they are expected to move forward with what would be a club-record bid.

Manchester United have reportedly discovered a significant update in their pursuit of Ipswich striker Liam Delap.
The 22-year-old has been a standout player for the Tractor Boys this season, scoring 12 goals in 35 Premier League appearances whilst also chipping in with a couple of assists.
Ipswich’s relegation from the top flight means the £30m release clause in Delap’s contract can be activated this summer and he is expected to be on the move once the transfer window officially opens on June 1.
Amid links to Newcastle and Chelsea, it was reported by Sky Sports News that Man Utd were believed to be in ‘pole position’ for the striker’s signature.
Furthermore, the report stated that Delap would be happy to move to Old Trafford this summer, though his final decision could be swayed by whether the Red Devils beat Tottenham in the Europa League final, thus qualifying for next season’s Champions League.
However, fresh developments suggest Man United have been dealt a huge blow.
According to reports, Delap favours a move to Chelsea where he would be reunited with Enzo Maresca who was his academy coach at Manchester City.

One deal which is moving fast two weeks before the transfer window open is Dean Huijsen’s Bournemouth exit.
All of Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool were keen on the young Spaniard, who has a £50million release clause in his contract.
But Real Madrid have acted fasted to beat the Premier League giants to the punch. Fabrizio Romano reports this morning that the player’s representatives have landed in Madrid to close the deal.
Madrid will play the release clause in three installments, and there is a five-year contract on the table for Huijsen to sign.
