Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Tottenham and Manchester United are making big moves as the summer transfer window heats up. The Gunners have signed four new players already, with youngster Elijah Upson the latest arrival at the Emirates Stadium. Man City 'reach Ayyoub Bouaddi agreement'

Manchester City are closing in on the signing of Ayyoub Bouaddi, as Elliot Anderson prepares to finalise his move.

Arsenal have been among those interested in Bouaddi and held initial talks over a summer deal as Mikel Arteta sought to bolster his midfield options ahead of the new season.

However, reports in Italy claim Man City are now leading the race for the Morocco international’s signature, reaching an agreement in principle with the Lille midfielder for a contract until 2031.

'Merino could force Arsenal exit'

Former Spain and Barcelona midfielder Gaizka Mendieta with a spicy transfer prediction.

"Mikel Merino will not enjoy being a bench player at Arsenal," Mendieta told BetVictor. "It works in the national team because of his specific role and recent goals, which makes things easier for everyone.

"However, he is an ambitious player who wants to be in the starting lineup. If he isn't, he may look elsewhere.

"The national team is different, with roles for players like Oyarzabal or Borja Iglesias. In a club setting, you don't want to be the 12th man who only comes on when goals are needed. You want to play regularly."
