January window is kicking into gear

Targets: Yan Diomande, Rafael Leao, Antoine Semenyo
The January transfer window is in full flow as the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool work on deals to bolster their squads during the season. The Gunners are weighing up a move for Tottenham target Yan Diomande, who is valued at around £85million. Tino Livramento, Blackburn wonderkid Igor Tyjon and Jeremy Jacquet are also of interest. Antoine Semenyo’s move to Manchester City could be hijacked today.
Chelsea have their new manager in place in the form of Liam Rosenior, but talk of a blockbuster move for Vinicius Jr has been played down. Instead, the Blues could make another attempt to raid Barcelona for Fermin Lopez with a £64m deal mooted, and have been linked with AC Milan’s Rafael Leao. Tottenham are said to also admire Diomande, along with Ademola Lookman, Maghnes Akliouche, Omar Marmoush and Christos Tzolis. A second bid, worth £13m, has been made for Santos left-back Souza.
Man Utd are set to appoint an interim manager, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer the man in pole position, before focus can turn on potential signings with Elliot Anderson of significant interest. Crystal Palace have given the green light for Marc Guehi to leave if the money is right, while the Eagles are in talks to sign right-back Zakaria El Ouahdi. Arsenal could be set for an unexpected windfall this month.
Nuno Tavares may be long forgotten by Gunners fans, but it turns out he could end up bolstering the title charge.
As a refresher, Tavares endured three loan spells away from the club before sealing a permanent transfer to Lazio last summer.
However, Tavares could be on the move once again - possibly before the January transfer window closes - as Sky Sports state he is courting interest from Premier League clubs as well as teams in Saudi Arabia.
And Arsenal reportedly have a 25 per cent sell-on clause in the deal which saw him move to Serie A.
Every little helps!

Oliver Glasner has opened the door for Marc Guehi to leave Crystal Palace this month.
The January transfer window represents the final chance for Palace to command a fee for the central defender as he is out of contract in the summer.
Previously there has been a reluctance from Palace to even entertain the idea of selling Guehi but fresh comments from Glasner suggest otherwise.
Glasner said: “It could be. I’m not so naive as not to know that if a massive offer comes from City and Marc wants to do it, it will happen.”
Guehi has been linked with a move to Man City, while Liverpool and Real Madrid are said to be interested too.

West Ham are planning to stick by head coach Nuno Espirito Santo for now.
Speculation over Nuno's future in east London ramped up on Tuesday night after Hammers suffered a 2-1 loss at home to Nottingham Forest.
That result extended West Ham's winless run to ten games and are now seven points from safety.
Despite fears of relegation, Sky Sports understands discussions among the hierarchy are more likely to centre on transfers rather than Nuno’s position.

Bournemouth are exploring a January loan for Arsenal teenager Ethan Nwaneri to bolster their attack.
The Independent report that Nwaneri has been targeted in light of Antoine Semenyo’s expected departure.
However, the teenager would rather stay at the Emirates Stadium and fight for minutes as Arsenal fight for a first Premier League title in over two decades.
Nwaneri has had limited game time this season, mostly from the bench and in domestic cups, prompting Bournemouth’s approach.
Despite Bournemouth’s offer, Arsenal are reluctant to loan him out mid-season, with the player happy to remain and develop at his boyhood club.

Transfer rumours linking Real Madrid winger Vinicius Jr with a move to Chelsea are wide of the mark, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Brazilian is into the last 18 months of his contract but Real Madrid are expected to ‘assess’ his situation in the coming weeks.
But a January exit has been ruled out.

Man City are confident of beating Manchester United in the race to sign Elliot Anderson.
TeamTALK report that the Premier League champions believe their stability gives them an edge over United, who continue to face uncertainty behind the scenes.
According to The Athletic’s David Ornstein, Anderson is admired by several elite clubs, including Bayern Munich and Chelsea, though a January move is unlikely due to financial and squad constraints.
Nottingham Forest have no desire to sell mid-season, but the situation could change in the summer. Any deal is expected to cost between £80m and £100m, potentially even more.

Chelsea are preparing major January moves under new head coach Liam Rosenior.
According to Fichajes, the club are ready to hand Rosenior a £130million transfer budget to strengthen their attack, and have pinpointed AC Milan’s Rafael Leao and Barcelona’s Fermin Lopez as priority targets.
Signing Leao would mark a shift from Chelsea’s usual policy and add experience and versatility to the squad.
Fermin was a target in the summer, but a deal could not be agreed with Barcelona.

Jamie Redknapp claims Liverpool have made a late attempt to hijack Antoine Semenyo's move to Manchester City.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Redknapp said: "I've heard there might be a little bit of a twist. I think Liverpool could still be in the equation.
"I think that, I've got to be honest, I think if they did come in - why they perhaps haven't come in as strongly, I'm surprised.
"If you look at that position, with Mohamed Salah and how long he's going to be at the club for, we don't quite know. If you've got a player of that quality and he shows he's a match-winner, he turns up in the big moments.
"Why wouldn't you be in for him? I'm not saying it's a a Sky Sports breaking news moment, but all I'm saying is, I've heard tonight that it might not be the forgone conclusion that he's going to be having a medical at Man City.
"There might still be a little twist and I hope so."

Arsenal have become the latest club to show interest in RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande.
The Ivory Coast international has reportedly caught the eye of many Premier League clubs, including Manchester United and Tottenham ahead of a potential summer transfer.
According to The Athletic, a fee of £86million may be required to sign Diomande this summer.
Furthermore, as Leipzig have no intention of allowing Diomande to leave during the January transfer window, it will take a very large offer for them to consider a winter sale as his contract expires in 2030.
