The latest transfer news, rumours and reports from the 2025 summer window, featuring Victor Osimhen, Lionel Messi, Eberechi Eze possibly joining Arsenal, Man Utd’s strange striker links, Anthony Elanga to Newcastle United, and more.
Victor Osimhen has agreed to return to Galatasaray, this time on a permanent basis. The Turkish side have had a €60m bid rejected by Napoli, according to Fabrizio Romano. Personal terms have been “agreed”. Al Hilal, though, are prepared to meet his €75m release clause.
Inter Miami are “extremely confident” they will hold onto Lionel Messi despite interest from Saudi Pro League outfit Al Ahli, The Athletic reports. His current deal with the MLS club runs out at the end of 2025.
Messi could be reunited with international teammate Rodrigo de Paul. Inter Miami and Atletico Madrid are in talks and the Argentina midfielder is “keen” on the move, Romano claims.
Arsenal are probably the busiest club in the transfer market at this moment. They have announced one signing this week and another is on the way, but they are also working on deals for Chelsea’s Noni Madueke and Eberechi Eze of Crystal Palace. The Gunners have agreed personal terms for the former, and The Independent say they are lining up a bid for the latter. They are “working on a payment structure” that would allow them to buy the playmaker without having to make a major sale. He has a release clause set at £60m, but Arsenal want to pay the figure in three instalments.
Mikel Arteta’s hunt for a striker continues, with Viktor Gyokeres now their top target. Despite the player’s protests, Sporting CP are not budging on the fee, demanding €70m (£60.2m) plus €10m in add-ons, according to The Guardian. They have already rejected an approach worth €65m plus €15m from the north London outfit. Personal terms have already been agreed.
Manchester United are also looking to sign a forward this summer, although they need to clear space in their squad first. They are “keeping tabs” on Fiorentina’s Moise Kean, who has a €52m release clause that can be triggered until 15 July, according to The Athletic. The report also claims that free agents Jamie Vardy, Callum Wilson and Dominic Calvert-Lewin have been made available to them.
Juventus are prioritising Francisco Conceicao over a move for Jadon Sancho, per Sky Italia. The Man Utd winger has been linked with the Italian giants and is available for around £25m. However, Juve would rather sign the Portugal attacker on a permanent deal following his loan spell from FC Porto last season. They have a week to sign to him for £25.8m before his release clause increases to £38.75m.
Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest have agreed a transfer fee for Anthony Elanga. The winger is flying to the UK today to undergo a medical ahead of completing the £55m deal, according to The Athletic.
The Tricky Trees have already identified Elanga’s replacement, say The Telegraph. They are one of several club’s interested in PSV’s Johan Bakayoko, who is valued at around £30m.
The Athletic report that Leeds United have submitted a bid worth up to £12m for Sean Longstaff. The Newcastle academy graduate’s contract expires next summer.
In other Leeds news, the club have agreed a deal for Lille left-back Gabriel Gudmundsson, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post. The Sweden international has completed his medical and will move for a transfer fee of £10m.
Everton are interested in signing Aston Villa captain John McGinn, The Athletic claim, although Villa want to keep ahold of him. The Toffees are also “continuing to make progress” on a deal for Villarreal striker Thierno Barry. Additionally, Sky Sports News say they are interested in signing Bournemouth goalkeeper Mark Travers following the departures of Asmir Begovic and Joao Virginia.
Evan Ferguson has emerged as a transfer target for AS Roma. Sky Italia claim the Brighton striker “figures highly on their list of options up front” and are “weighing up a move”.
Romano reports that Auxerre have agreed a deal to take Ibrahim Osman on loan from the Seagulls. A buy option will be included.
Reinildo Mandava has completed a medical ahead of his move to Sunderland. The Mozambique international has agreed a two-year contract following the expiry of his deal with Atletico Madrid.
Former Arsenal and Chelsea striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is in talks over a mutual termination of his contract at Saudi Pro-League side Al Qadsiah, according to Sky Sports News. He has interest from clubs in France, Italy, England and Turkey.
Spurs have signed Kota Takai on a five-year deal from J1 League side Kawasaki Frontale. The 20-year-old defender is believed to have cost a fee of around £5m.
Multiple reports claim that Arsenal have completed the signing of Christian Norgaard from Brentford for £10m. The only thing that remains is the official announcement. The Gunners have already completed the addition of Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad.
Wojciech Szczęsny has signed a new two-year deal with Barcelona. The former Arsenal goalkeeper came out of retirement last season following Marc-Andre Ter Stegen’s injury.
Reading have completed a pair of Premier League loans, signing Mark O’Mahony and Finley Burns from Brighton and Manchester City respectively.
