Ter Stegen in Chelsea's sights this winter!

Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri has revealed that English club Chelsea has officially opened negotiations to sign German goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen from FC Barcelona as early as the January transfer window.

On his official account on the "X" platform, Tavolieri wrote: "Chelsea has officially entered negotiations with Barcelona to sign Ter Stegen during the winter transfer window.

The Catalan club does not rule out a loan or a permanent sale of the goalkeeper in order to ease financial pressure."

In the same context, and according to English site TeamTalk, the Blues are looking to sign the 33-year-old German goalkeeper on a six-month loan deal.

Ter Stegen is currently going through a tough period at Barça, having lost the trust of manager Hans-Dieter Flick. Young goalkeeper Juan García has been promoted to the first team, and the contract of Polish shot-stopper Wojciech Szczęsny has been extended until 2027.
