Benfica are preparing for possible changes in goal as interest in Anatoliy Trubin grows and plans for different outcomes are considered.

The 24-year-old is under contract until 2028 with a 100 million euros release clause. According to A Bola, he wants a step up to a more competitive league, with the Premier League his preferred destination, and Aston Villa are among the clubs monitoring amid uncertainty over Emiliano Martínez.

Despite the attention, Rui Costa is not inclined to ease any exit. Benfica would only discuss a deal worth more than 20 million euros, reflecting the progress Trubin has made since arriving from Shakhtar Donetsk.

Names have surfaced as potential options for the position. Ederson, now at Fenerbahçe and formerly of Benfica, is not being considered to return, largely due to his salary in Türkiye.

Alexander Nübel, contracted to Bayern Munich after a loan at Stuttgart, has also been mentioned, though that idea lacks internal consensus. If Trubin does depart, Benfica would be expected to seek a different solution, with Samuel Soares retained as an in-house alternative while the next first-choice is identified.
