Espérance de Tunis will have to do without its Algerian contingent on Wednesday when they take on Étoile Sportive de Métlaoui in a rescheduled fixture from matchday 21 of the Tunisian Ligue 1.

Sitting at the top of the table with 46 points—just one ahead of closest rival Club Africain—the oldest club in Tunisia will be hunting for three crucial points that could prove golden in the race for the championship.

But the task won’t be easy against the southern club, especially as Espérance will be missing its Algerian trio: defender Mohamed Amine Tougai and wingers Kouceila Boualia and Youcef Belaili.

Tougai is being rested, having just returned to action, while Boualia and Belaili are sidelined due to health issues.

While Tougai and Boualia are expected to return for the next match against Olympique Béja, Belaili will have to wait a bit longer before making his much-anticipated comeback..
