After reports emerged yesterday regarding interest in Cristhian Mosquera, another source have stated that AC Milan are keen.
Relevo journalist Matteo Moretto published an article yesterday in which he claims that Milan have shown an interest in Mosquera and that they have been testing the waters with a view to a possible move in June.
This morning’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanPress) has confirmed Moretto’s story, stating that the Rossoneri are indeed keen on the 20-year-old. This season he has become a regular starter with the LaLiga club, making 12 appearances in 13 games, one of which was missed due to injury.
Mosquera already has a rather high market value: according to Transfermarkt it is €30m which is not a small amount. As Milan found during the lengthy talks with Valencia over Yunus Musah, they are not an easy side to negotiate with.
He has already played 61 official games with the first team, so he also has a certain amount of experience despite his young age. Valencia want to renew his contract (which currently expires in 2026) to be able to sell him at the price decided by the owners, but for now everything is on hold.
If he were to arrive it would provoke questions about the current centre-backs given there are already four options at present: Matteo Gabbia, Fikayo Tomori, Malick Thiaw and the summer signing Strahinja Pavlovic.
