It was 30 September 2017. Juventus Women played their first historic official match in Bergamo against Atalanta Mozzanica. The first step towards what would be a path studded with successes, joy and emotions until winning the 6th Scudetto this season. At Juve, the captain wears the number 3 jersey, comes from Trieste and is unmistakable on the pitch: her name is Sara Gama.

Thus began the never-ending story: Sara’s heart led her to choose to fight for the Juventus cause. Already a pillar of the national team, already champion of Italy with Brescia, and fresh from an international experience at PSG. She arrived in Turin to show the group the way, uniting young girls and established players, setting her sights on the Scudetto from the start. She wins with action, with few words, by proving herself in a concrete way. Her debut season soon became the norm: that armband fits her arm like a second skin.

The team before everything else. For Gama, it has been like that from day one. Adventures, first times, special matches, setting the right example to ease tension on Champions League nights, firing up her teammates when needed. When you think of her, you think of the leader figure (not even too quiet), ready to go out of her way to defend the squad. It has been exciting watching her defend the black and white jersey, we cried with joy when she lifted the trophies and now we will save some tears for the long final farewell.
