Two Corinthians councillors expelled from club membership | OneFootball

Corinthians’ Deliberative Council expelled councillors Manoel Ramos Evangelista, known as Mané da Carne, and Marcelo Mariano, or Marcelinho, from the club’s membership on Monday night.

According to Meu Timao, the cases were heard in extraordinary sessions convened by council president Romeu Tuma Júnior.

Proceedings against Mané da Carne concerned threats made to councillor Suzy Miranda in 2022 and an accusation of racism during council meetings in 2023. The former director was expelled by 65 votes, with seven for a one-year suspension and four abstentions.

Marcelinho served as administrative director for one year under president Augusto Melo. He is accused, alongside other former directors, of money laundering, criminal association and qualified theft, and has become a defendant in the VaideBet case. The vote returned 35 for expulsion, 21 for a one-year suspension and six abstentions.

On the same night, Mario Mello Junior, tried over the invasion of Parque São Jorge in 2025, was given a six-month suspension.

A second extraordinary session has been set for 10 August to hear the cases of Claudinei Alves, Valmir Costa and Paulo Cesar de Andrade Prado. Claudinei and Valmir, who worked in the youth set-up during Augusto Melo’s administration, were expelled over the 31 May invasion, but in early July Romeu Tuma Júnior granted a suspensive effect. Their appeals will go to the council, which will consider a recommendation to uphold their removal.

Paulo Cesar de Andrade Prado could be readmitted if the council follows a favourable opinion from the Associates’ Ethics Commission, which also recommended his return to Parque São Jorge.
