Two former Olympique Lyonnais figures are included in the 2026-27 BEPF intake of 10 coaches.

Le Progres reports that the BEPF, required to coach from National to Ligue 1, remains a coveted step for many on the touchline. In the current class, Lyon reserve coach Gueïda Fofana should obtain the diploma in the coming weeks.

Next season's programme comprises more than a dozen weeks of training, and candidates must submit a substantial report to pass.

The first former Lyon man is FC Versailles head coach Jordan Gonzalez, who took charge in late 2024 after a year with OL's U17 and U19 national sides. The 35-year-old from Givors works with long-time assistant Marcelo Collazos, with whom he had paired at CASCOL or La Duchère. Versailles could also contest a Ligue 2 promotion play-off, as they are sixth in National, one point behind third.

The second is former defender Jérémie Bréchet, now assistant to Bruno Genesio at Lille. He returned to Lyon in 2019 to guide the U17s, then moved to the reserves and into the first-team staff in 2023-2024, before continuing his coaching path at Lille.
