The biggest talking points after another disappointing result in the Premier League.

Southampton has become too predictable now. Either they concede multiple goals early on, or they arrive in a winning position only to somehow find a way to lose.

Everything was going well for the Saints but then, an Amad Diallo masterclass overshadowed a quite courageous performance.

Aaron Ramsdale faced the media after the match to reveal what went wrong for Southampton. Now, let's see how Thursday's 3-1 defeat could affect Southampton's next matches.

Two questions and two answers from Southampton's late 3-1 defeat at Old Trafford

Below, we look at the two answers we got from the Manchester United game. Later, we will analyse the two questions after a dramatic collapse.

Two Answers

How many changes Ruben Amorim will make in the starting lineup?

In the build up to the match, Red Devils boss Ruben Amorim dropped a hint about rotating his squad. Manchester United claimed a thrilling win against Arsenal on Sunday, thus the Southampton fixture was a good chance to rest some players.

In the end, Manchester United made three changes to the squad that defeated Arsenal. Andre Onana, Leny Yoro and Amad Diallo replaced Bayindir, Maguire and Dalot respectively.

How will Tyler Dibling perform at Old Trafford in his new role?

Finally, Ivan Juric has found a solution to Southampton's misfiring attack. Experimenting Tyler Dibling as a striker worked well against Swansea.

Thus, there was huge excitement about how the 18-year-old would fare against the Red Devils. Dibling's performance - a flicked pass on the own goal, a few shots on target and an unfortunate ankle sprain.

Let's hope the knock isn't too serious.

Two Questions

Could the result have been different had Sulemana scored?

Let's be honest, Southampton were brilliant in the first half. The Saints created a ton of big chances but could only score one goal.

Even in the second half, there were some good chances. Most of them fell towards Kamaldeen Sulemana who was unable to get the better of Onana.

Had Sulemana scored even one goal, this 3-1 result may have been much better.

Has Southampton already accepted relegation?

The Saints fell 2-1 behind from being 1-0 up in just ten minutes. Southampton didn't seem to have any plan for Diallo, but the third goal was completely bizarre.

Harwood-Bellis couldn't control the ball properly and he as well as Ramsdale didn't even attempt a save. This moment reflected the lowdown on the Southampton players.

At this point, it wouldn't be surprising if some of them have already accepted relegation.
