Inter Milan’s pursuit of Udinese center-back Oumar Solet has taken a blow after the Friulians named a prohibitive asking price for the ex-RB Salzburg star. According to TMW, Kosta Runjaic’s charges have slapped a substantial €30 million price tag on the 25-year-old.

It’s no secret that Inter are in the market for a new defender. Indeed, the reigning Scudetto holders will likely part way with at least one veteran center-half in the coming months. Francesco Acerbi and Stefan de Vrij will discuss their prospects at the San Siro at the end of the season.

With the star duo set to depart, Inter will try to sign a quality replacement, with Solet emerging as a viable candidate to fill the vacancy. In addition to the French ace, Simone Inzaghi’s men harbor a long-standing interest in his clubmate, Jaka Bijol.

However, Solet has recently overtaken the Slovenia international as his meteoric rise in Serie A left a telling impression on Inter. Solet joined Udinese on a Bosman deal from Salzburg in October but was only eligible to play since January.

Despite his relatively brief stint in Italy’s top flight, Solet’s speed, strength, and anticipation have quickly amazed elite clubs, including Inter. But taking him away from the Bluenergy Stadium won’t be simple, with Udinese keen to extract a maximum profit from his possible departure.

Inter witnessed Solet’s qualities first-hand at the San Siro in late March as the Frenchman netted a stunning solo goal in Udinese’s 2-1 defeat at Giuseppe Meazza.
