Once again decisive, Mohamed Salah propelled Liverpool to their first win of the 2025-2026 Champions League campaign. The Pharaoh set up a goal and then found the net himself, giving the Reds a perfect start to the match.

By assisting Andrew Robertson for the opening goal in the 4th minute and scoring himself just two minutes later, Mohamed Salah not only gave Liverpool an early lead but also etched his name further into the competition's history books.

According to Opta, the former AS Roma, Chelsea, and Fiorentina star became the only player ever to both score and provide an assist within the first six minutes of a Champions League match for an English club.

Across all clubs, only Mariano Bombarda and Karim Benzema had previously accomplished this remarkable feat.

With 48 goals in the competition, the Baysoun native has now drawn level with two legends on the list of top scorers: Zlatan Ibrahimović and Andriy Shevchenko.
