Nigerian striker Umar Sadiq is making his intentions for the winter transfer window unmistakably clear: he is determined to secure a return to Valencia CF. According to reports from Fichajes, the 28-year-old Real Sociedad forward has been sending consistent signals that he wishes to go back to the club where he felt truly valued and rediscovered his joy for the game.
This appeal has not fallen on deaf ears at the Mestalla. Valencia's sporting director is actively working on several reinforcement deals, and Sadiq's name is reportedly a priority on their list. This interest is driven directly by manager Carlos Corberán, who is said to be a keen admirer of the striker's profile and attributes.
Sadiq is no stranger to Valencia, having joined on a loan deal last winter to help salvage a difficult season. He quickly won over both fans and the technical staff with his unwavering work ethic, physical presence, and total commitment on the pitch. His contribution proved decisive in steering the team to safety during a perilous second half of the campaign.
However, this budding romance came to an abrupt halt. Despite the loan agreement including a purchase option, Valencia ultimately decided not to trigger it. The club did attempt to negotiate a permanent transfer in the summer, but talks collapsed due to Real Sociedad's firm stance. The Basque club categorically refused Valencia's proposed terms, forcing a reluctant Sadiq to return to San Sebastián.
