It’s open season on Alejandro Garnacho. His shocking performance against Man U on Saturday led to links with moves away from Chelsea, to the point that Liam Rosenior even came out to defend his winger yesterday.

The criticism hasn’t stopped, however. Nicky Butt has today slammed the winger on his podcast, having coached him in the academy.

Alejandro Garnacho a “disgrace” says former coach

“The best thing Man United did was sell him because, forget his ability, and I don’t think he is that great anyway, but I thought his attitude was a disgrace when he was at Man United,” Butt said in quotes picked up by the Evening Standard.

“When he got into the [Man U] first team… he got above his station way too quick. He got superstar status way too quick.”

Butt also repeatedly says he doesn’t think Garnacho’s ability actually merited his arrogance.

It’s not what you want to hear about a player you’ve paid more than £40m for. Chelsea are really in trouble with this one, another dreadful signing.

In other news…

Cole Palmer’s bad form has been blamed on Liam Rosenior, who certainly hasn’t helped, but we see the origins much further back.

Palmer will leave for Man U this summer because of Chelsea’s failure to reach the Champions League, Paul Merson has said.
