HLN are reporting that experienced goalkeeper Anthony Moris looks set to leave Union St Gilloise. The long serving Luxembourg international is, at the age of 35, about to cash in one last time with a move to Saudi Arabia. Despite some interest from France, namely Metz and Nice, the goalkeeper is currently talking to Al Khaleej in the Saudi League. It is understandable why, at this point in his career, Moris is keen on earning one last pay day, especially as he was finally able to lift the Pro League trophy as a Union player last season.
Moris has been with Union since 2020 and has made 232 appearances for the club, the most he has made for anyone in his career. The former Belgian U21 international swapped his alliegance to Luxembourg in 2014 and has been a regular for the small European nation ever since. During his career, which has been exclusively in Belgium, Moris has played for Standard Liege, Sint Truiden, KV Mechelen and then Virton, from where he joined Union.
Moris will leave Union having helped them return to the Pro League, win the domestic cup in 2024 and then their first league title since 1935 this past season. He will certainly go down as a club legend.
