Manchester United returned to winning ways with a 1-0 victory over Everton on Premier League matchday 27.

Sesko secures three points for the Red Devils

Slovenian striker Benjamin Sesko netted the only goal of the match in the 71st minute, giving the Red Devils three precious points in the title race.

This win holds special meaning for the famous supporter Frank Illett, nicknamed “The United Strand.” In October 2024, he launched a challenge on social media: he would not cut his hair until Manchester United achieved five consecutive victories.

What started as a humorous bet gradually turned into a true test of patience due to the club’s inconsistent results.

Currently sitting fourth in the league, Manchester United had recently come close to the target, only for their run to be halted by a 1-1 draw against West Ham United.

Carrick salutes the loyalty of the fans

For his part, manager Michael Carrick responded to the story with warmth:

“I know Frank’s story and I understand what it means. It’s funny, but also fantastic. Of course, it won’t affect the team, but it reminds us just how loyal our fans are.”

As a reminder, Manchester United will host Crystal Palace in the next round at Old Trafford, with kickoff at 2:00pm (GMT).
