Spanish giants Real Madrid have a chance to make it five wins from five under new manager and former Los Blancos cult hero Xabi Alonso, and they certainly look good for it.
Heavy favorites before kick-off, Alonso's men broke the deadlock in the 22nd minute through an unlikely source and in the most unexpected of ways when Brazilian centre-back Éder Militão.
Picking up a pass from Fede Valverde, he unloaded from over 30 yards out to beat Marko Dmitrović with power and precision for just his second goal across the last two seasons.
And not only was his hit an absolute missile into the top corner, but it came on the end of an attacking sequence that has not been seen for at least the last two decades.
The 27-year-old has been hit with one injury crisis after the next since his arrival from Porto in the summer of 2019, but now seemingly fit once more, perhaps this goal is a sign of things to come for 2025/26.
