West Ham United's slow summer looks to explode into life anytime soon, as the Hammers are in negotiations with Premier League outfit Tottenham Hotspur over the potential addition of Manor Solomon on a permanent basis.

No new faces have yet arrived through the doors at the London Stadium this summer, despite the lucrative sales of Mateus Fernandes to Spurs and Crysencio Summerville to Al Hilal.

Incoming director of player recruitment Nils Koppen will be in constant dialogue with head coach Nuno Espirito Santo over potential additions, and now, the Belgian seems to have set his crosshairs on Spurs winger Manor Solomon, as per The Athletic.

Solomon, 27, has played just six competitive games for the North London outfit since his move from Shakhtar Donetsk in the summer of 2023 for around £17.3 million, and now could be set to move across the capital to link up with the Hammers.

Solomon, upon his arrival from Ukrainian side Shakhtar in 2023, struggled to make an impact in North London, as a meniscus injury would keep him out of action from October onwards, just months after signing.

The winger has since spent time out on loan in the Championship with Leeds United, in La Liga with Villarreal, and, most recently, in Italy with Fiorentina.

With the departure of Summerville leaving a huge gap on the left flank for the Hammers, which Venezuelan winger Keiber Lamadrid is unlikely to be able to fill on his own, Nuno and Koppen are looking at potential additions in that area.

Sunderland's Simon Adingra has also been the subject of interest from the East London outfit, but only on loan, as now, West Ham are looking to complete a permanent deal for Solomon, with talks under way, as per The Athletic.

However, according to Kat Lucas (The i Paper) via X, West Ham face competition from Premier League outfit Hull City over the signature of Solomon, who have the ability to offer the Israeli the chance to remain in the Premier League.

At this stage, it's not clear where Solomon would prefer out of the two, though West Ham will nevertheless remain confident in their chances of securing his addition over the Tigers.

Having struggled to make an impact on either his loans with Villarreal or Fiorentina, Solomon enjoyed an excellent spell with Leeds in the English second tier during the 2024/25 campaign under Daniel Farke, giving Hammers supporters every reason to believe his addition could have a huge impact.

In 39 Championship games, Solomon scored ten and assisted 12, helping the Whites back to the Premier League, and notably scoring a late winner on the final day away to Plymouth Argyle as Leeds pipped Burnley to the title on a century of points.

Whilst his last campaign in Spain and Italy was far from his best, having put up these numbers in the Championship previously, there is no reason why he can't do so again.

Having found success in one former Leeds winger previously, namely Summerville, West Ham can complete a similar trick with Solomon, who has the potential to be a game-changer in the second tier for the Hammers.

With negotiations ongoing over the permanent switch of Solomon, Nuno surely won't be satisfied with ending West Ham's summer there.

With Fernandes heading the opposite direction, a new body or two in the middle of the park ought to be a priority as well, especially with Freddie Potts edging closer to a move to Belgian side Club Brugge.

Nuno knows what it takes to get a side out of the Championship, having done so previously with Wolves in 2018, and he will be aiming to recreate that feat with the Hammers this time around.

However, to give him the best chance of success, more additions are a necessity beyond Solomon, as West Ham must back their Portuguese head coach by remaining active in the market.
