The board at Valencia are understood to have beaten out their counterparts at La Liga rivals Real Betis to the signing of Guido Rodríguez.
Midfielder Guido spent the 2nd half of this past season plying his trade in the colours of Valencia.
After penning a short-term contract in a cut-price January transfer from West Ham United, the 32-year-old went on to play a leading role for Los Che.
All told, across 16 La Liga appearances, Guido racked up four goals, en route to a mid-table finish at Mestalla.
This form gave rise to interest from the aforementioned Real Betis, for whom the 32-year-old previously featured between 2020 and 2024.
In the end, however, the Verdiblancos were not willing to meet the demands laid out by Guido’s entourage during contract talks between the parties.
As a result, as per a report from Mundo Deportivo, citing market insider Matteo Moretto:
‘Argentine midfielder Guido Rodríguez is very close to accepting an offer to rejoin Valencia CF, thus eliminating the possibility of a return to Real Betis.’
