Valencia closed the window without a late twist, not spectacular, but with three reinforcements across key areas to push for survival.

According to Superdeporte, Sadiq arrived after a failed summer pursuit. Unai Núñez joined on loan and Guido Rodríguez signed as a free agent until summer, a plan A midfield move that nearly collapsed.

The Betis knockout at La Cartuja revived early-season habits, though Valencia competed and were close to a draw. With the hosts depleted, the defence was rarely stretched and only Santamaría’s lethargy after coming on denied them.

Rodríguez has been brought in to lift the midfield and awaits his debut. If he rediscovers his Betis level, missing at West Ham, he hopes to find it at Mestalla, and quick adaptation is needed.

Sadiq was first through the door in January. He has yet to nail down a starting role but has impressed in Copa and LaLiga.

Valencia also chased a centre-back before Diakhaby’s injury, with a push for Justin de Haas stalling over Famalicao and now set for summer, while Amenda was discussed.

A new winger proved elusive as Santamaría and Raba refused exits. CEO of Football Ron Gourlay, recruitment and scouting director Lisandro Isei and Corberán weighed an under-23 due to a full senior list, and although the academy kept a B-team slot free, no deal materialised.
