Valencia confirm Pedro Gomes for Mestalla as free agent | OneFootball

Valencia have confirmed the signing of Portuguese defender Pedro Gomes for their Mestalla side, the 22-year-old joining as a free agent after leaving FC Kapaz.

According to Superdeporte, Carlos Corberán’s first-team squad have already added Sadiq, Unai Núñez and Guido, and could still pursue another signing, which would require a departure. The club have also sealed a deal for Haas, who will arrive in the summer on a contract to 2030.

Gomes is a versatile centre-back who can cover at right-back and, if needed, as a defensive midfielder. He links up with Angulo’s Valencia Mestalla immediately.

A product of Sporting de Portugal and Boavista, he has played more than 20 top-flight matches in Portugal. He moved to Azerbaijan this season with FC Kapaz, making 11 appearances there.

Known for his physicality, he received eight yellow cards and one red in 22 senior outings for Boavista across league and cup. His arrival is Valencia Mestalla’s second addition of the winter window.
