Valencia face two battles on the final day, on the pitch and in the streets, as fans plan a march against Peter Lim's management. As reported by AS, Carlos Corberán's side are also chasing a first European return in seven years.
They host Barcelona at Mestalla at 21:00. Valencia must win, and need neither Getafe nor Rayo to do so, to reach the Conference League. By minute 87 in San Sebastián last Sunday, their safety was still not assured.
The protest is scheduled to start at 17:00 in Plaza del Ayuntamiento, a little over two kilometres from Mestalla, reaching the stadium area at 19:00, shortly before the Valencia and Barcelona team buses arrive at the stadium. The call followed immediately after the Real Sociedad match, with permits already filed. The plans stood whether Valencia were battling the drop or pushing for the Conference League.
LibertadVCF organise the march, backed by 36 associations including CurvaNord, plus various supporters' clubs and other Valencianista groups. Organisers will distribute yellow posters at the entrances to Mestalla. The slogan says there are more than enough reasons to protest.
Saturday's event will be the fifth citywide march against Lim since 8 May 2021, following 11 December 2021, 17 June 2023 and 2 March 2024, alongside other gatherings near Mestalla. The most visual protest came on 21 May 2022, when Mestalla was emptied days before Anil Murthy's departure as president.
