Valencia freeze base prices but many to pay more in Mestalla’s final season

Valencia have frozen base season-ticket prices for Mestalla’s final season, choosing not to apply inflation. Even so, many supporters will pay more, with the average rising from 460 to 475 euros, which is above inflation.

According to Superdeporte, the change stems from revised discounts. The shareholder reduction falls to 5 per cent from 10, and age, shareholder and attendance discounts can no longer all be combined. The package covers LaLiga and the Copa del Rey after another year without European qualification.

For example, an over-65 who attended every game last season cannot also use the shareholder deduction, dropping it from 10 per cent to zero. If that same person did not meet the attendance criteria, they would add 10 per cent for age and 5 per cent for shareholder, still paying more than if an inflation rise had been applied but last season’s discount policy kept.

The club will therefore take more in season-ticket income than a year ago. Single-match prices will rise by an average of 15 per cent, making a farewell visit to Avenida de Suecia costlier.

It will now cost fans more to see 19 league fixtures plus any Copa progress than the 30 of the Centenary season, when Valencia were champions with a squad almost four times more valuable and a far superior spectacle.
