Valencia are pursuing Arnau Martínez as Corberán’s preferred right-back and are preparing a proposal for Girona while courting the player.
According to AS, Valencia view him as the best right-back they can realistically target and have activated mechanisms to lodge a convincing bid to Girona and the player. Their three-way plan hinges on André Almeida leaving, with an offer from Swansea, to free space and funds to buy at least part of Arnau’s rights.
Corberán has outlined the project to Arnau in several conversations, and the defender is receptive. Valencia, competing with other suitors, need time to align the pieces.
Clubs from the Bundesliga and the Italian league are in the running. For now, Arnau has chosen to wait until Valencia put an offer forward.
The approach is buying Valencia time, but the window will not stay open forever. A formal written bid to the player and Girona is needed soon to show intent, after which talks would focus on an agreement. As Almeida weighs Swansea’s proposal and the market shifts, the club could instead activate Lim’s 35 million debt capitalisation to speed their business if his exit drags.
