Copa del Rey returns to Mestalla as Valencia face Athletic on Wednesday in a one-off tie, with the winner reaching the semi-finals.

According to Superdeporte, the hosts have only the injured Diakhaby, Thierry and Julen Agirrezabala unavailable, plus the suspended Rivero.

For Athletic, Ernesto Valverde must manage without the suspended Yeray for doping and Paredes, and he also has a lengthy injury list. Sancet and Nico Williams have recently joined it, while Egiluz and Sannadi have been out for some time, and none will be available at Mestalla.

Addressing defensive doubts and the possibility of recovering players, Valverde said Vivian has not trained this week. He added that Aymeric Laporte is training, though doctors feel it is still a little early.

If neither returns, Yuri is set to continue at centre-back and could be partnered by Lekue or Vesga. Youth prospects Jon de Luis or Iker Monreal, involved in recent Europa League and LaLiga squads, also have a chance of minutes.
