According to Superdeporte, Valencia are treading carefully before Saturday's demanding meeting with Atlético Madrid, with several players still being managed. Carlos Corberán will adjust his line-up based on late fitness checks as injuries and workload shape preparations.
One positive is Unai Núñez's steady recovery. He featured against Girona last time out, suggesting his issues are easing. His return expands defensive options and gives him a chance to regain his pre-lay-off level.
Eray Cömert's case is different. Before injury he had earned a bigger role and there was talk of continuity. In his absence others have impressed, notably Pepelu, a midfielder deputising at centre-back with composure and distribution, which complicates Cömert's immediate return to prominence.
Lucas Beltrán provided the setback. The Argentine forward left the Paterna session with physical problems and his availability against Atlético is seriously in doubt. His possible absence would be a significant blow, given his movement and combination play.
Valencia await medical results and hope to get players back for a test that will require their best. The team have shown signs of progress in recent weeks, but any absence could tilt the balance at this stage.
