Real Madrid entertained Manchester City at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium earlier tonight as they hoped to secure a good result at home in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League last 16 tie. Los Blancos made a bright start to the game and scored the opening goal in the 20th minute thanks to Federico Valverde’s composed run and finish. Valverde doubled his team’s advantage just seven minutes later before going on to complete his hat-trick in the 42nd minute. Alvaro Arbeloa’s men went into the half-time break 3-0 up on the scoreline.

The Madrid giants sat on their lead well in the second 45 minutes and secured an impressive 3-0 win at the Bernabeu.
