Marino Hinestroza’s move to Boca Juniors has become complicated, LaNumer12.com.ar reports, with Vasco da Gama entering the race with a stronger proposal.
The Rio de Janeiro club have tabled an offer that surpasses Boca’s after a delay in the email confirming acceptance of terms cast doubt on a preliminary agreement.
Atlético Nacional waited in the hope a better bid might arrive, and it did, with Vasco offering 6 million dollars for the 23-year-old winger’s rights, one million more than Boca.
The decision now rests with Hinestroza, who must choose between pursuing his wish to wear Boca’s blue and gold or prioritising a move to Brazil. Boca are unhappy with Atlético Nacional’s board.
The club’s difficulties extend beyond Hinestroza. Boca could withdraw from talks for San Lorenzo forward Alexis Cuello after the transitional board there refused to sell to them.
Juan Román Riquelme and Marcelo Delgado are leading negotiations but, with one week until competitive action begins, no signings have been finalised. The president has said there is no need to panic and that they trust the squad for the competitions ahead in 2026.
